I had already had a facebook account and through another thing activity I created a twitter account. I decided to post my facebook account because it is the social network that I use the most. I believe both accounts work great for social networking. I find it a little over obsessive to have more than one social networking site. I believe it is important for educatory to know how social networking sites work, so that they are aware of what their students our up to. With the rise of cyber bullying, teacher's need to be aware of how their students are communicating.

I like how each site was easy to maneuver. It is as if your friends are right at your finger tips. I feel like facebook is more of a social networking site than twitter is. However, it is just because that is the way I use it. With my twitter account, I am following blogs that will help with my future career rather than keeping up with my friends lunch schedules. I dislike twitter for this reason. Through facebook, I am interacting with friends through various means not by just updating my statuses.

I could see using social networking sites in the classroom. With so many students and parents partaking in these sites, I think it is a great way to communicate. By no means do I believe it should be your only source of communication, but I do believe for some parents it would be beneficial.
